November 2021 has seen an increase of 1.46% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.21% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 76.25% in November 2021, a 39.57% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 9.97% in November 2021, marking a 19.46% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.97% in November 2021, a 45.76% drop from October 2021.

Top five retail companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 31.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s retail industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Amazon posted 405 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 50.85% over the previous month, followed by JD with 154 jobs and a 10.47% drop. Alibaba Group Holding with 146 IT jobs and Wesfarmers with 69 jobs, recorded a 5.04% rise and an 115.63% rise, respectively, while Woolworths Group recorded a 50% increase with 51 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s retail industry

China commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 35.05% share in November 2021, a 3.69% increase over October 2021. India featured next with a 27.99% share, down 54.52% over the previous month. Australia recorded an 18.94% share, a growth of 31.03% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.37%, down by 37.77% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.18% share, registered a decline of 27.76% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.95% share, down 47.37% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.5%, recording a month-on-month decline of 57.14%.
