Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 45.93% in November 2022, a 57.27% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.69% in November 2022, marking a 47.2% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.68% in November 2022, a 46.84% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 18.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s retail industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Woolworths Group posted 54 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by JD with 37 jobs and a 19.57% drop. Target with 36 IT jobs and Wesfarmers with 27 jobs, recorded an 89.47% rise and a 6.9% drop, respectively, while ODP recorded a flat growth with 22 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s retail industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 32.25% share in November 2022, a 61.92% decrease over October 2022. Australia featured next with a 31.27% share, down 29.41% over the previous month. China recorded an 18.24% share, a drop of 42.27% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.73%, down by 52.48% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.92% share, registered a decline of 50.45% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.36% share, down 55.91% over October 2022.
