1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.5% in December 2021, registering a 24.18% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 28.71% share, an increase of 39.53% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.96%, registering a 19.05% rise from November 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.39%, down 54.55% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s retail industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Woolworths Group posted 68 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 74.36% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 48 jobs and a 34.25% drop. Wesfarmers with 39 IT jobs and Coles Group with 17 jobs, recorded a 33.9% decline and a 54.55% growth, respectively, while Cotton On Clothing recorded a flat growth with 12 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.11%, down by 22.54% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.92% share, registered an increase of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.96% share, down 7.41% over November 2021.
