Brazil’s retail industry registered a 1.1% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 33.73% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.39% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 1.7% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Brazil’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s retail industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65.74% in December 2021, registering a 29.09% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 21.3% share, an increase of 130% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.48%, registering a 30% decline from November 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.7%, up 100% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Brazil’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s retail industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Lojas Americanas posted 57 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 418.18% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 31 jobs and a 26.19% drop. Magazine Luiza with 19 IT jobs and Evino with 1 jobs, recorded a 24% decline and a flat growth.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.11%, up by 40.43% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 23.15% share, registered an increase of 257.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.74% share, down 29.17% over November 2021.
