China’s retail industry registered a 13.1% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.95% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.11% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s retail industry in November 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 42.86% in November 2022, registering a 47.83% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28.57% share, a decrease of 15.79% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 19.64%, registering a 54.17% decline from October 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.36%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 33.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s retail industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Jd posted 37 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 19.57% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 12 jobs and a flat growth. Amazon with 4 IT jobs and Lululemon Athletica with 1 jobs, recorded an 84% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Suningcom Group recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80.36%, down by 35.71% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.07% share, registered a decline of 52.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.57% share, down 75% over October 2022.
