China’s retail industry registered an 18.0% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 18.04% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.63% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.21% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s retail industry in June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s retail industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
Amazon posted 68 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by JD with 23 jobs and a 25.81% drop. eBay with 14 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 8 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and an 11.11% decrease, respectively, while Alibaba Group Holding recorded an increase of 200% with 6 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.94%, down by 17.98% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.95% share, registered an increase of 69.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.11% share, up 7.69% over May 2022.
