eBay’s IT hiring activity declines 7.4% in August 2022

US-based company eBay’s IT hiring declined 7.4% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 10.31% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 37.35% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 4.8% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops eBay IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by eBay, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 95.1% in August 2022, and a 6.73% drop over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 2.94% in August 2022, and registered a decline of 50%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 0.98% in August 2022, a flat growth from July 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at eBay

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 71.57% share, which marked a 24.74% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 21.57%, registering a 100% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 3.92% share and a 42.86% drop over July 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 2.94% and a month-on-month decline of 25%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 66.67% share in August 2022, a 22.73% decline over July 2022. China featured next with a 15.69% share, up 100% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 4.9% share, a decline of 44.44% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead eBay IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.88%, down by 21.92% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 38.24% share, a decline of 11.36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.88% share, up 200% over July 2022.
