Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 63.83% in June 2022, a 25.11% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.86% in June 2022, marking a 29.95% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 7.82% in June 2022, a 10.11% drop from May 2022.

Top five retail companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s retail industry during June 2022 over previous month.
REWE Group posted 160 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 157 jobs and a 68.54% drop. Veepee with 80 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 73 jobs, recorded a 48.15% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while John Lewis Partnership recorded a 177.78% increase with 50 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s retail industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 29.52% share in June 2022, a 10.22% increase over May 2022. The UK featured next with a 20.43% share, down 43.36% over the previous month. France recorded a 10.56% share, a growth of 5.88% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.12%, down by 19.05% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.69% share, registered a decline of 33.96% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 12.9% share, down 34.65% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.29%, recording a month-on-month decline of 40%.
