March 2022 has seen an increase of 5.35% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 7% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering an increase of 0.51% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 73.14% in March 2022, a 6.19% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.6% in March 2022, marking a 10.75% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.32% in March 2022, a 7.18% drop from February 2022.

Top five retail companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.34% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s retail industry during March 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 638 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a decline of 26.5% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 169 jobs and a 30% growth. Ocado Group with 169 IT jobs and Zalando with 106 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 20.9% drop, respectively, while Internet Fusion recorded a 109.52% increase with 44 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s retail industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 30.08% share in March 2022, a 17.57% increase over February 2022. Germany featured next with an 18.04% share, down 17.51% over the previous month. Sweden recorded a 6.88% share, a growth of 5.98% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.03%, up by 1.11% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.43% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.38% share, down 17.1% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month decline of 62.5%.
