France’s retail industry registered a 3.9% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.43% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s retail industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.87% in July 2022, registering a 40.79% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28.72% share, a decrease of 18.18% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.89%, registering a 27.27% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.38%, up 20% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 20.65% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s retail industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Veepee posted 22 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 46.34% over the previous month, followed by Carrefour with 18 jobs and a 10% drop. Amazon with 15 IT jobs and Leroy Merlin with 10 jobs, recorded a 6.25% decline and a 66.67% growth, respectively, while Inter IKEA Holding recorded a decline of 11.11% with 8 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.02%, down by 30.77% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.15% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 13.83% share, down 31.58% over June 2022.
