France’s retail industry IT recruitment activity rises 6.2% in April 2022

France’s retail industry registered a 6.2% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 18.76% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.22% share in April 2022, recording a decrease of 0.41% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s retail industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.77% in April 2022, registering a 20.59% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.49% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.74%, registering an 18.75% decline from March 2022.

Top five retail companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s retail industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Leroy Merlin posted 42 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 23 jobs and a 17.86% drop. Carrefour with 15 IT jobs and Veepee with 13 jobs, recorded a 28.57% decline and a 43.48% decrease, respectively, while Hermes International recorded an increase of 80% with 9 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.33%, up by 12.31% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.31% share, registered an increase of 8% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 17.36% share, up 40% over March 2022.
