Germany’s consumer industry registered a 3.7% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.29% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.43% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.09% in May 2022, registering a 13.16% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.05% share, an increase of 30% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.81%, registering a 36.84% decline from April 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.88%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 31.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Lotus Bakeries posted 18 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 38.46% over the previous month, followed by Fujitsu General with 14 jobs and a 27.27% growth. Carlsberg with 5 IT jobs and Reckitt Benckiser Group with 5 jobs, recorded a 37.5% decline and a 400% growth, respectively, while The Swatch Group recorded an increase of 100% with 4 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.48%, down by 1.49% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.35% share, registered an increase of 42.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.17% share, down 50% over April 2022.
