Germany’s retail industry registered a 19.2% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.9% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.49% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.57% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.85% in November 2022, registering a 60.19% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.79% share, a decrease of 35.85% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.74%, registering an 8% decline from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.41%, down 70.59% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 21.59% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Hornbach Holding AGKGaA posted 36 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 2.7% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 33 jobs and a 725% growth. Schwarz Unternehmenskommunikation GmbHKG with 28 IT jobs and Zalando with 26 jobs, recorded a 55.56% growth and a 13.04% growth, respectively, while VorwerkKG recorded a decline of 84.04% with 15 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.72%, down by 46.26% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.03% share, registered a decline of 52.83% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.26% share, down 73.77% over October 2022.
