Germany’s retail industry IT recruitment activity rises 0.2% in July 2022

Germany’s retail industry registered a 0.2% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.66% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.48% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 2.1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.04% in July 2022, registering a 13.73% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.91% share, an increase of 9.26% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.6%, registering a 19.35% rise from June 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.6%, down 31.82% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

VorwerkKG posted 94 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 87 jobs and a 10.13% growth. Hornbach Holding AGKGaA with 38 IT jobs and Schwarz Unternehmenskommunikation GmbHKG with 35 jobs, recorded a 15.15% growth and a 45.83% growth, respectively, while REWE Group recorded a decline of 81.55% with 31 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.33%, down by 15.24% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.34% share, registered a decline of 4.48% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.33% share, up 11.76% over June 2022.
