India’s consumer industry registered a 21.9% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 17.09% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.82% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in June 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41% in June 2022, registering a 26.32% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 24.27% share, a decrease of 20.55% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 17.99%, registering a 23.21% decline from May 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 15.9%, down 24% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 11.95% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 45 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 31.82% over the previous month, followed by Panasonic with 39 jobs and a 20.41% drop. PepsiCo with 24 IT jobs and Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 19 jobs, recorded a 20% growth and a 35.71% growth, respectively, while General Mills recorded an increase of 30% with 13 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.09%, down by 30.81% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.38% share, registered a decline of 12.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 3.77% share, up 50% over May 2022, while Entry Level postings accounted for 3.77%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
