India’s retail industry registered a 1.1% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.79% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.22% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s retail industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.03% in July 2022, registering a 13.63% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.16% share, an increase of 44.16% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.3%, registering a 5% decline from June 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.06%, up 23.53% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s retail industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Amazon posted 448 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 23.94% over the previous month, followed by Target with 56 jobs and a 69.7% growth. adidas with 39 IT jobs and VorwerkKG with 31 jobs, recorded an 1850% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Specsavers Optical Group recorded a flat growth with 17 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.76%, down by 5.1% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 37.12% share, registered a decline of 0.39% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.12% share, down 19.83% over June 2022.
