India’s retail industry registered a 44.6% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 33.33% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.39% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 6.2% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s retail industry in November 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.45% in November 2022, registering a 67.86% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 41.41% share, a decrease of 25.45% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 7.07%, registering a 75% decline from October 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.03%, down 66.67% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 21.54% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s retail industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Target posted 36 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 89.47% over the previous month, followed by ODP with 22 jobs and a flat growth. Walmart with 10 IT jobs and NIKE with 6 jobs, recorded a 9.09% decline and a 78.57% decrease, respectively, while Inter IKEA Holding recorded a decline of 28.57% with 5 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.64%, down by 59.35% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.28% share, registered a decline of 46.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.08% share, down 84.91% over October 2022.
