China-based company JD’s IT hiring declined 14.0% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.57% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 10.46% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 2.06% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops JD IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by JD, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 85.14% in October 2021, and a 41.34% drop over September 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 9.14% in October 2021, and registered a decline of 56.76%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 5.14% in October 2021, a 10% drop from September 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at JD

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 96.57% share, which marked a 42.91% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 2.86%, registering a 37.5% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 0.57% share and a flat growth over September 2021.

China commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 96.57% share in October 2021, a 42.91% decline over September 2021. US featured next with a 2.86% share, down 37.5% over the previous month. Romania recorded a 0.57% share, a flat growth compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead JD IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.43%, down by 44.06% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 13.14% share, a decline of 41.03% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.43% share, up 20% over September 2021.
