Mexico’s consumer industry registered a 2.8% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.92% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.61% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.15% in May 2022, registering a 27.27% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 30.77% share, an increase of 45.45% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.54%, registering a 53.85% decline from April 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.62%, up 150% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV posted 14 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a drop of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Panasonic with 9 jobs and a 47.06% drop. Anheuser-Busch InBev with 7 IT jobs and The Coca-Cola with 6 jobs, recorded a 12.5% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while International Flavors & Fragrances recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.69%, down by 25.86% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with an 11.54% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.77% share, flat growth over April 2022.
