Netherlands retail industry registered a 5.3% rise in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.84% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.08% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 0.67% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Netherlands retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Netherlands retail industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.36% in December 2021, registering a 14.89% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 27.27% share, a decrease of 17.24% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.82%, registering a 14.29% decline from November 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.41%, up 50% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Netherlands IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 7.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Netherlands retail industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Inter IKEA Holding posted 20 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 20% over the previous month, followed by NIKE with 19 jobs and a 216.67% growth. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize with 15 IT jobs and Amazon with 13 jobs, recorded a 42.31% decline and an 85.71% growth, respectively, while adidas recorded an increase of 40% with 7 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.91%, up by 11.54% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.41% share, registered an increase of 56.25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.68% share, down 68.75% over November 2021.
