Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.12% in June 2022, a 22.7% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 23.47% in June 2022, marking a 7.14% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 19.49% in June 2022, a 26.53% drop from May 2022.

Top five consumer companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s consumer industry during June 2022 over previous month.
The J. R. Simplot posted 102 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 72.88% over the previous month, followed by Carrier Global with 60 jobs and a 28.57% drop. PepsiCo with 51 IT jobs and Haier Group with 40 jobs, recorded a 30.14% drop and a 14.29% rise, respectively, while Rich Products recorded a 5% decline with 38 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s consumer industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 90.97% share in June 2022, a 14.79% decrease over May 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.69% share, down 12.5% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.34% share, a drop of 52.56% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.74%, down by 17.93% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.4% share, registered a decline of 21.8% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.69% share, down 4.85% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.17%, recording a month-on-month decline of 27.78%.
