Top five retail companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 14.55% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s retail industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Amazon posted 1,738 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 29.23% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 308 jobs and a 10.2% drop. Dollar Tree with 226 IT jobs and CVS Health with 173 jobs, recorded an 11200% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Chewy recorded a 121.13% increase with 157 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s retail industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 90.37% share in September 2022, an 8.98% decrease over August 2022. Canada featured next with an 8.82% share, down 14.39% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.56% share, a drop of 15.38% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.06%, down by 9.67% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 25.89% share, registered a decline of 16.35% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 22% share, up 2.01% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.05%, recording a month-on-month decline of 60%.
