Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 81.95% in February 2022, a 0.57% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 6.74% in February 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 5.06% in February 2022, a 4.66% drop from January 2022.

Top five retail companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.06% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s retail industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 4,698 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 3.87% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 324 jobs and a 5.54% growth. CVS Health with 203 IT jobs and Chewy with 152 jobs, recorded a 2.01% rise and an 11.11% drop, respectively, while Walgreens Boots Alliance recorded a 266.67% increase with 99 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s retail industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 91.52% share in February 2022, a 1.7% decrease over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 7.87% share, up 7.34% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.55% share, a growth of 46.15% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.78%, up by 0.88% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 32.66% share, registered a growth of 2.51% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 19.9% share, down 9.17% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.67%, recording a month-on-month decline of 13.21%.
