June 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.4% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.76% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 30.88% in June 2022, a 48.78% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 29.41% in June 2022, marking a 35.48% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.65% in June 2022, a 14.29% drop from May 2022.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 16.18% in June 2022, a 56% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 36.21% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during June 2022 over previous month.
GraceKennedy posted 9 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 18.18% over the previous month, followed by Anheuser-Busch InBev with 8 jobs and a 55.56% drop. BRF with 7 IT jobs and The Procter & Gamble with 7 jobs, recorded a 30% drop and a 22.22% drop, respectively, while Kimberly-Clark recorded a 40% decline with 6 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 32.35% share in June 2022, a 45% decrease over May 2022. Jamaica featured next with a 13.24% share, down 18.18% over the previous month. Argentina recorded an 11.76% share, a drop of 57.89% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80.88%, down by 36.78% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 10.29% share, registered a decline of 46.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.82% share, down 57.14% over May 2022.
