Spain’s retail industry registered a 24.6% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.09% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 21.68% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 4.98% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Spain’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s retail industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 90.28% in February 2022, registering a 20.37% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 5.56% share, a decrease of 55.56% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 2.78%, registering a flat growth from January 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 0.69%, down 80% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Spain’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s retail industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Amazon posted 84 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 25.37% over the previous month, followed by adidas with 28 jobs and a flat growth. Veepee with 25 IT jobs and Colibri- ManoMano with 7 jobs, recorded a 41.86% decline and a 12.5% decrease.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.75%, up by 3.13% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.44% share, registered an increase of 40% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.81% share, down 15% over January 2022.
