Sweden’s retail industry registered a 6.5% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.86% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 21.47% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Sweden’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.27% in December 2021, registering a 6.33% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 20% share, an increase of 10% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.09%, registering a 41.18% decline from November 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 1.82%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 4.35% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

H & M Hennes & Mauritz posted 55 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 22.54% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 41 jobs and a 51.85% growth. Amazon with 7 IT jobs and Axfood with 6 jobs, recorded a 30% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Matsmart Scandinavia recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 3.75% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.91% share, registered a decline of 17.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, down 9.09% over November 2021.
