Sweden’s retail industry registered an 8.9% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 14.45% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 21.75% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Sweden’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry in October 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.37% in October 2021, registering a 17.28% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.29% share, an increase of 250% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.29%, registering a 46.15% decline from September 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.04%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

H & M Hennes & Mauritz posted 59 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 20.41% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 28 jobs and a 45.1% drop. Amazon with 5 IT jobs and ICA Gruppen with 4 jobs, recorded a 28.57% decline and a 20% decrease, respectively, while Axfood recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.45%, down by 20.22% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.37% share, registered an increase of 38.46% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.16% share, down 27.27% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.02%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
