The UK’s consumer industry registered a 10.2% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.52% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.72% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.41% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s consumer industry in June 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.71% in June 2022, registering a 10.14% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.94% share, a decrease of 2.5% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 17.65%, registering a 41.18% decline from May 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.82%, down 54.55% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 3.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s consumer industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
Roofoods posted 35 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 775% over the previous month, followed by Fujitsu General with 33 jobs and a 17.86% growth. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 24 IT jobs and The Body Shop International with 16 jobs, recorded a 31.43% decline and a 54.29% decrease, respectively, while Reckitt Benckiser Group recorded a decline of 15.38% with 11 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.29%, down by 20% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.53% share, registered an increase of 4.55% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 10% share, down 22.73% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.18%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
