The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.51% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.55% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

Top five retail companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 16.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s retail industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Amazon posted 132 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 18.92% over the previous month, followed by Ocado Group with 24 jobs and a 9.09% growth. John Lewis Partnership with 14 IT jobs and Farfetch with 13 jobs, recorded a 39.13% decline and a 225% growth, respectively, while Marks and Spencer Group recorded an increase of 71.43% with 12 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.83%, up by 1.05% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.6% share, registered an increase of 7.32% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.57% share, up 12% over April 2022.
