The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.36% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Top five retail companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s retail industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Amazon posted 53 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 62.68% over the previous month, followed by Howden Joinery Group with 28 jobs and a 300% growth. Asda Stores with 23 IT jobs and Cazoo Group with 19 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 35.71% growth, respectively, while John Lewis Partnership recorded a decline of 43.75% with 18 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.5%, down by 37.73% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 24.56% share, registered an increase of 27.78% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.95% share, down 35.38% over July 2022.
