The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 11.01% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.23% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 47.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s retail industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
John Lewis Partnership posted 50 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 177.78% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 35 jobs and a 77.12% drop. Ocado Group with 20 IT jobs and Howden Joinery Group with 9 jobs, recorded a 23.08% decline and a 52.63% decrease, respectively, while Marks and Spencer Group recorded a decline of 55.56% with 8 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.64%, down by 39.3% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.4% share, registered a decline of 45.1% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.96% share, down 59.02% over May 2022.
