The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.66% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s retail industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Amazon posted 1,475 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 30.42% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 308 jobs and a 10.2% drop. Dollar Tree with 226 IT jobs and CVS Health with 173 jobs, recorded an 11200% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Chewy recorded an increase of 121.13% with 157 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.21%, down by 9.64% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 25.03% share, registered a decline of 16.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 22.71% share, up 2.55% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.06%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
