
The US’s retail industry registered a 2.4% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.25% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.7% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s retail industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 82.51% in March 2022, registering a 10.37% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 7.13% share, an increase of 18.39% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 4.83%, registering a 9.82% rise from February 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.65%, up 3.16% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 13.35% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s retail industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Amazon posted 4,941 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 10.02% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 573 jobs and a 50% growth. Chewy with 252 IT jobs and CVS Health with 196 jobs, recorded a 46.51% growth and a 4.39% decrease, respectively, while Walgreens Boots Alliance recorded an increase of 2.02% with 101 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.76%, up by 14.9% from February 2022. Entry Level positions with a 29.15% share, registered an increase of 5.94% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 20.31% share, up 6.21% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.78%, recording a month-on-month increase of 23.4%.
