The US’s retail industry registered a 2.7% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.27% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.06% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s retail industry in November 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 80.95% in November 2021, registering a 4.73% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 6.13% share, a decrease of 8.1% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 5.45%, registering a 2.32% rise from October 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.47%, up 9.76% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s retail industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
Amazon posted 4,242 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 11.08% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 340 jobs and a 7.61% drop. CVS Health with 211 IT jobs and Chewy with 191 jobs, recorded a 7.65% growth and a 7.3% growth, respectively, while Lowe’s Companies recorded a decline of 8.33% with 110 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 47.7%, up by 6.66% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 30.95% share, registered an increase of 2.04% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 20.5% share, up 1.22% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.85%, recording a month-on-month increase of 5.77%.
