US-based company Walmart’s IT hiring rose 0.2% in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 26.49% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 2.56% share in the company’s total hiring activity in November 2021, and recorded a 0.15% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Walmart IT hiring in November 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Walmart, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 82.38% in November 2021, and an 8.16% drop over October 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 7.05% in November 2021, and registered a decline of 43.48%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 5.69% in November 2021, a 5% rise from October 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Walmart

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in November 2021 with a 93.22% share, which marked an 8.02% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 6.78%, registering a 19.35% month-on-month decline.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 92.14% share in November 2021, a 7.61% decline over October 2021. India featured next with a 6.78% share, down 19.35% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.08% share, a decline of 33.33% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Walmart IT hiring activity in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.03%, down by 20% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 38.48% share, a growth of 5.19% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.78% share, up 19.05% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.71%, recording a month-on-month increase of 11.11%.
