Walmart’s IT hiring activity rises 0.3% in October 2021

US-based company Walmart’s IT hiring rose 0.3% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 40.08% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 1.83% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 0.6% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Walmart IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Walmart, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 83.9% in October 2021, and an 8.76% drop over September 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 11.69% in October 2021, and registered growth of 60.71%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 2.34% in October 2021, a 10% drop from September 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Walmart

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 91.95% share, which marked an 11.72% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 8.05%, registering a 72.22% month-on-month growth.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 90.39% share in October 2021, a 9.84% decline over September 2021. India featured next with an 8.05% share, up 72.22% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.56% share, a decline of 60% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Walmart IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60%, down by 19.79% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.47% share, a growth of 13.64% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.19% share, up 42.86% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.34%, recording a month-on-month increase of 28.57%.
