Amazon has announced a partnership with French retailer Monoprix, a subsidiary of a leader in the global food retail, Casino Group, to offer grocery items to Prime Now members in France.
Starting this year, Amazon plans to offer grocery items, sourced from the Monoprix through its Prime Now app and a virtual store on the website to customers living in Paris and neighbourhood areas.
Casino Group chairman and CEO Jean-Charles Naouri said: “Thanks to this unique partnership between Amazon and Monoprix, Casino Group reinforces its omnichannel distribution strategy and gets even closer to its customers and their needs.
“This commercial partnership is a new milestone in Casino Group strategy to innovate ever more for tomorrow’s urban commerce.”
As part of this collaboration, grocery items from Monoprix brands offered on Amazon include Monoprix Gourmet, La Beauté Monoprix, Monoprix Bio and more.
Monoprix chairman Régis Schultz said: “Monoprix further differentiates and increases its unique position as urban omnichannel leader. Monoprix will benefit from the most comprehensive grocery delivery service in Paris.”
Headquartered in Paris, Monoprix currently operates in around 250 cities in France through six banners, and 800 stores.
Under six brands, Monoprix offers a range of products, including organic food, dry goods, cosmetics, dietary supplements, meat, fish and deli, ready-to-eat items, snack goods, hot-drink dispensers, and quick meal solutions.
