E-commerce retailer Amazon has announced a further expansion at its Austin Tech Hub in Texas, US, by creating new jobs.
The retailer will hire more than 2,000 corporate and tech workers in the next few years to support the growing teams in Operations Technology, Amazon Retail, Amazon Business, and Amazon Web Services.
Roles will include senior data engineers, senior technical programme managers, user experience designers, and financial analysts.
Amazon also signed agreement with real estate investment trust Cousins Properties to lease 330,000ft2 space at the company’s new building at The Domain in Austin.
Slated to open in early 2024, the new facility will join complement the company’s three existing locations in Austin at The Domain.

The investment at Austin Tech Hub is part of Amazon’s multi-city expansion across the country and company.
Currently, the retailer employs more than 3,000 people at its Austin Tech Hub.
In addition to Austin, Amazon is expanding its Phoenix Tech Hub with plans to create more than 550 corporate and tech jobs in Tempe, Arizona, over the next few years.
New roles at Phoenix Tech Hub will include software development engineers, senior solution architects, project managers, and business analysts.
These roles will support the retailer’s teams in consumer retail, Amazon Web Services, and operations.
