Women’s clothing retailer Avenue Stores is set to close all of its 222 retail stores in 33 US states.

The stores are located across Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, and New York among others.

Avenue Stores has selected a joint venture consisting of Gordon Brothers and Hilco Merchant Resources to carry out retail store sales, which also includes the sale of all items, brands and in-store fixtures.

As part of the sale, the retailer is offering 30%-50% off all merchandise, including denim, swimwear, shoes, accessories.

The joint venture spokesperson said: “Avenue shoppers will be amazed not only by the incredible savings, but also by the great selections and styles available at the closing sale.

“Given the popularity of the brand and the seasonal trends, merchandise is sure to sell out quickly. We are encouraging consumers to shop early and take advantage of these offers.”

Earlier this week, a joint venture of SB360 Capital Partners and Hilco Merchant Resources was appointed by fast-fashion retailer A’GACI to liquidate its stores.

The retailer filed for bankruptcy protection under chapter 11 and announced plans to close all 54 stores in the US and Puerto Rico.

SB360 and Hilco commenced ‘going out of business’ sales today in all 54 A’GACI locations this week.

Last month, jewellery and accessories retailer CHARMING CHARLIE filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy with plans to close all 261 stores in 38 US states.

The store closing sales for this retailer are also being conducted by a joint venture consisting of Hilco Merchant Resources and SB360.
