American discount retail chain Big Lots has finalised a deal to acquire the entire inventory of the Hearthsong brand of children’s toys. 

Big Lots will add more than 500 new stock-keeping units to accommodate the Hearthsong collection in all its stores across the country.

The collection encompasses indoor and outdoor toys, inflatables, playscapes, games and educational items, all to be sold at between 50% and 70% below their original retail prices. 

The acquisition marks the first time these collections of high-quality indoor and outdoor children’s toys have been introduced in Big Lots stores.

The acquisition comes after Big Lots announced the return of Seth Marks as senior vice-president of extreme value sourcing in November 2023.  

Marks was tasked with heading a team focused on re-inforcing the company’s position in off-price and closeout sourcing.

The Hearthsong toys will arrive in Big Lots stores from April 2024 and be available into the early summer.
