Independent IT and business consulting services firm CGI has acquired retail solutions provider Meti Logiciels et Services (Meti).

The acquisition was carried out through one of CGI’s European subsidiaries. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by the parties.

Based in France, Meti retail sector specialises in offering integrated business solutions and consulting services.

The company serves clients in 20 countries by offering solutions for several stores, warehouses and merchant locations. It also works with some of the major retailers in Europe.

The acquisition will strengthen CGI’s services that will be useful in supporting retailers across their operations, ranging from supply chain management to in-store commercial.

As part of the acquisition, approximately 300 of Meti’s professionals will now be joining CGI.

CGI has 77,500 consultants and other professionals working worldwide.

Founded in 1976, CGI reported revenue of $12.1bn during 2019.
