DoorDash has introduced a direct integration with Shopify, letting independent brick-and-mortar retailers in the US list their product catalogues on the DoorDash marketplace without separate onboarding.

The feature is available as a sales channel through Shopify’s App Store.

Merchants can activate it without undergoing a distinct setup process, uploading catalogues manually, or altering their current operations.

According to DoorDash, the self-serve mechanism, embedded within the existing Shopify interface, cuts the time needed to go live from several weeks to a matter of days.

Product and inventory information updates automatically across both platforms, meaning DoorDash listings mirror live Shopify stock levels and eliminate the need for retailers to enter data twice.

DoorDash enterprise partnerships vice-president Mike Goldblatt said: “As the first on-demand marketplace that Shopify merchants can activate directly from their existing Shopify Admin, we are opening the door to retail merchants who can now reach their communities faster than ever.”

The integration is rolling out first in the US, with DoorDash indicating plans to extend it internationally within the coming months, though no specific countries or dates have been confirmed.

DoorDash said the service targets independent retailers across various categories, including gift shops, sporting goods outlets and speciality food businesses.

Shopify partnerships vice-president Atlee Clark added: “This integration puts local retailers in front of millions of DoorDash shoppers and turns same-day demand into sales, all managed inside Shopify.”

The Shopify announcement follows an earlier commercial agreement DoorDash signed with Empire Company in April, under which more than 1,000 grocery and convenience stores will be added to its Canadian marketplace.

That arrangement spans all ten Canadian provinces and brings 12 grocery brands from Empire’s portfolio onto the platform, among them FreshCo, Farm Boy and Longo’s, alongside convenience chains Needs, Boni-Soir and Voisin.

Separately, Shopify reported in May that its first-quarter 2026 revenue rose 34%, with gross merchandise volume exceeding $100bn for the period.
