The retailer also launched IKEA Kreativ, a new artificial intelligence (AI) experience through which customers can integrate and visualise design solutions in their own living spaces via the IKEA app.

It also installed 14 new electric vehicle chargers for home delivery trucks, which it says will power more than 38,500 zero-emission home deliveries across the country.

In addition, IKEA Canada plans to invest more than C$400m to optimise its fulfilment networks in Greater Vancouver and Toronto.

IKEA Canada CEO and chief sustainability Selwyn Crittendon said: “We know that more Canadians want quality and affordable home furnishings, especially given the current cost-of-living crisis.

“We’re energised to be bringing touchpoints closer to where Canadians live and work, while strengthening our commitment to supporting the communities we serve and to our shared home, the planet.”

In August this year, IKEA Canada opened a new small format store in Scarborough Town Centre, Toronto.
