Amazon has approved an expansion of commercial-stage pharmaceutical company Innovus Pharmaceuticals to Japan.

This move follows previous announcements for expansions of the online store to the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Aiming for the first store to be opened by Q4 2019, the expansion is expected to strengthen Innovus Pharmaceuticals’ Amazon profile presence in Asia, adding to its current achievements in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Earlier this month, Amazon signed a lease agreement to establish the Greenwood distribution centre in South Carolina, US.

Amazon will invest a total of $80m in the project, including the purchase of equipment such as conveyor systems, parcel sorters, racking systems, material-handling equipment and IT scanning and picking equipment.
