Retail solutions provider ITAB has announced a significant agreement with a major European grocery chain to supply self-checkout technologies.
The company will deliver 7,200 self-checkouts to the unnamed retailer’s stores in multiple countries.
ITAB has begun the rollout of the self-checkouts and expects it to be completed by February 2025.
The self-checkouts will be implemented in Austria, the Baltics, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
The solution is easy to install and maintain, and integrates hardware into a seamless checkout experience for consumers.
The contract, which includes the products’ price and other services, is valued at €16m for 2024.
