American luxury accessory and lifestyle brand Kate Spade New York has launched a new store at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, UK.
The store is the retailer’s first full-price standalone store outside London.
With a 1,600ft² retail space, the new boutique store replaces lifestyle brand Aspinal of London and is located on the lower Guildhall next to Coach and opposite Michael Kors.
The store will offer the brand’s collection of handbags, small leather goods, apparel, footwear, fashion accessories and stationery.
Kate Spade New York president and chief creative officer Deborah Lloyd said: “With a reputation as the leading retail and leisure destination in the UK, Bluewater was a clear choice for our first full-price store outside London.
“As an American brand with a global sensibility, we are looking forward to introducing the full breadth of the Kate Spade New York lifestyle offerings to new and existing brand fans in the region.”

By GlobalDataThe Bluewater store is the brand’s fifth location in the UK, adding to its portfolio of speciality stores in London on Regent Street, Covent Garden, Sloane Square and Westfield.
The development comes after beauty brand Smashbox opened its first store in the South East at Bluewater and fashion retailer Missguided launched its first store outside of London earlier this year.
Landsec is the co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater.
Landsec senior portfolio manager Robert Hardie said: “The premium retail experience provided by Kate Spade New York extends Bluewater’s appeal among affluent guests.
“The launch clearly shows strong demand from high-end US brands to secure a foothold in Bluewater, following in the footsteps of Michael Kors and Coach.”
Kate Spade New York operates more than 140 retail shops and outlet stores across the US and over 175 shops worldwide.
