Premium sustainable beauty and wellness retailer the L’OCCITANE Group has announced it is undergoing a significant leadership change.

The positions of CEO and group managing director will merge into one effective 1 April 2024.

This strategic move aligns with the company’s ongoing transformation into a geographically balanced, multibrand powerhouse.

In a noteworthy shift, the company announced that acting CEO André J Hoffmann has decided to step down from his position.

However, he will continue to contribute as an executive director and board member, focusing on strategic, policy, and leadership matters within the L’OCCITANE Group.

The company said Hoffmann’s leadership has been pivotal in achieving strategic objectives, including geographical expansion and successful brand acquisitions.

Stepping into the role of new CEO is Laurent Marteau, the group’s current managing director.

The company said Marteau brings more than two decades of experience in the global beauty industry, including senior management roles within LVMH and a significant tenure at the La Prairie Group.

His journey with the L’OCCITANE Group began in 2022 when he assumed the role of group managing director.
