US-based autonomous mobile robots maker for fulfilment warehouses Locus Robotics has signed a strategic integration partnership with Manhattan Associates.

The partnership will allow Manhattan Associates, which is a supply chain and omnichannel solutions provider, to serve as a licensed reseller of Locus’s autonomous, multi-robot solution.

The collaboration will also help develop integration tools to drive productivity and efficiency for third-party logistics (3PL) and global retail customers.

“By partnering with Manhattan, we can bring the Locus solution to customers more rapidly and achieve faster time to value.”

Locus Robotics CEO Rick Faulk said: “The sustained massive growth in e-commerce has left the supply chain industry at a turning point. Retailers and 3PLs are seeking autonomous mobile robots to solve their productivity, efficiency and labour challenges.

“By partnering with Manhattan, we can bring the Locus solution to customers more rapidly and achieve faster time to value.”

Separately, Locus and RightHand Robotics (RHR) have joined forces to demonstrate the possible use of cross-platform robotics solutions for high-volume order fulfilment warehouse operations.

The partnership will focus on bringing together Locus’s autonomous multi-robot model for piece handling and RHR’s autonomous work cell. This approach is expected to address numerous fulfilment processes that range from picking to packing in high-volume scenarios.

RHR co-founder Leif Jentoft said: “With the growing demands of e-commerce order fulfilment, we can solve our customers’ needs for flexible and reliable technology, with real productivity and efficiency results.”

The Locus multi-robot solution and the cross-platform warehouse fulfilment technology will be demonstrated at Manhattan’s Momentum 2019 Conference, in Phoenix, US, this week.
