Abu Dhabi-based hypermarket chain LuLu Group is planning to open 20 new hypermarkets in Dubai and Northern United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the next two years.

These new projects are part of the company’s growth plans for UAE and its commitment to offering customers a new shopping experience.

Commenting on the expansion plans, LuLu Group chairman Yusuff Ali said: “With the rapid economic growth being witnessed all around the UAE, we strongly feel we should be closer to our customers so that they do not have to make long trips to meet their shopping needs.”

In addition, the retail chain has opened a new hypermarket in Al Warqa, Dubai, bringing its store count to a total of 147.

The new hypermarket is a two-level store and features an extensive assortment of products, including groceries, home appliances, electronics, IT products, fashion, stationery and sports.

“We are extremely happy to bring again another world-class shopping experience as close as possible to the residents of Al Warqa.”

Located in 120,000ft2 of space, the store’s primary focus is on offering fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood to customers.

Ali added: “This shows the kind of demand for quality shopping that exists here, and we are extremely happy to bring again another world-class shopping experience as close as possible to the residents of Al Warqa and its nearby areas.”

The company also made investments in storage facilities baking and cooking machines for the hypermarket.

Other features of the store include money exchange, opticals, hair spa and kids saloon, as well as mobile shops.
