Maplin partners with iSmash to strengthen tech support offering

UK-based electronic goods retailer Maplin Electronics has entered a new partnership with tech repair specialist iSmash.

UK-based electronic goods retailer Maplin Electronics has entered a new partnership with tech repair specialist iSmash.

Through the partnership, Maplin aims to strengthen its technical support offering.

Under the terms of the deal, iSmash will open concessions in three of Maplin’s stores across the UK on a pilot basis.

“This exciting new partnership with iSmash will provide first-rate tech repairs for our customers in store.”

The development comes after video game retailer Game signed an agreement with Maplin to open pilot concessions in four Maplin stores.

Maplin Electronics CEO Oliver Meakin was quoted by media sources as saying: “We are constantly looking to expand our services proposition, as we look to create a customer journey that supports those who shop with us all the way from pre-purchase and consideration to after sales support.

“Following the nationwide launch of our Free Smart Home Survey, a new and unique service in the UK, this exciting new partnership with iSmash will provide first-rate tech repairs for our customers in store.

“We feel there’s a great cultural fit between iSmash and Maplin, two genuine specialists in their respective fields, and I’m confident this partnership will be a positive one.”

The company operates more than 210 stores across the UK and Ireland.

Established in 2013, iSmash specialises in the repair of smartphones, tablets and computers.
